Born and raised in Lake Arthur, Louisiana, Dr. Duplantis is pleased to be able to provide care to Acadiana. At a young age he was drawn on the ability of dentistry to not only heal patients physically, but emotionally as well. "Giving a patient the ability to smile and to feel confidence tackle the world head on is one of my primary goals in life."
He is a graduate of McNeese State University with a BS in Biological Sciences and later futhured his education at LSU School of Dentistry recieving a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. While in school Dr. Duplantis could be found volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul's Ozanam Inn homeless shelter proving urgent dental needs to the poor and needy of the community.
Dr. Duplantis has always looked forward in school to come back to a small town and practice excellent restorative dentistry.
Dr. Dupantis is a member of the American Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, American Acadamey of General Dentistry. Committed to providing the best care possible for his patients, Dr. Duplantis completes countless hours of continuing education per year, and has taken multiple courses in restorative dentistry, and is a member of the study club - Acadian Southern Society.
An avided runner, Dr. Duplantis is always outdoors and when he is not he can be found either cooking, working out, woodworking, or spending time hanging out with his friends and family.
Amanda joined Fontenot Family Dentistry in May of 2014. She completed two years at UL, followed by two years of hygiene school through LSU school of Dentistry. She received a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and was awarded second in her class. Amanda began working with Dr. Fontenot one week after graduation. She has always loved being social and enjoys getting to know her patients. She is from Opelousas, but moved to Lafayette when she began college. On her free time, Amanda enjoys being outdoors, traveling, riding bikes, and spending time with friends and family.
Emilie joined Fontenot Family Dentistry in January of 2016 after completing the Dental Assistant program at Acadiana Area Career College. She works alongside Dr. Fontenot during procedures and takes care of lab duties to ensure our patients get the very best. She enjoys making her patients feel comfortable and easing their dental anxiety. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family and of course watching the LSU Tigers do their thang!
Mckenzie joined Fontenot Family Dentistry in October of 2015. She is certified in CPR and expanded duties. She has taken courses in sedation that she applies to the office in making sure our patients are extra comfortable. She strives in giving our patients the best care possible! Mckenzie and her husband enjoy spending time together with family and friends. Outside of the office, she enjoys shopping, working out, and spending time with her new niece Meredith Kate!
Mel joined Dr. Fontenot and his team in July of 2015 after graduating from LSU school of Dentistry. She was one of six selected students from the Lafayette satellite program. She received Lafayette’s Outstanding Student Award, The Irma Miner Scholarship, Who’s Who among Students in American University Colleges, and The Golden Scaler Award. Mel is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association. She also participates in many community activities. She enjoys attending Special Smiles every year associated with the Special Olympics in Carencro. Her roots are in the heart of her favorite and home town city, Carencro. Mel loves building relationships with her patients while providing the best oral hygiene care. When not in the office, Mel enjoys working out, shopping, makeup, and spending time with family!
Tanner joined Fontenot Family Dentistry in May of 2016. She completed the Dental Assisting program at Acadiana Area Career College shortly after graduating from Teurlings Catholic High School. She really enjoys greeting our patients and making sure they enjoy their dental experience with us. She loves spending time with her family and friends. Although she loves Louisiana, she is a huge Alabama fan. Roll Tide!
Morgan joined Fontenot Family Dentistry in January of 2018 after having 3 previous years as an expanded duty dental assistant. She completed the dental assistant program at Acadian Area Career College in 2014. She works alongside Dr. Duplantis during procedures but also does lab work and sterilizes instruments. Morgan’s main concern is making patients feel at ease during their appointments at Fontenot Family Dentistry. Outside of the office, Morgan loves spending time with her two nieces Sophia and Viviann (tookie). She also spends most of her weekends with her new husband, Joe. She would love for you to come see her and Dr. Duplantis for all your dental needs!
Taylor joined Fontenot Family Dentistry in November of 2017 after completing the dental assistant program at Southwest Dental Academy. She works alongside Dr. Fontenot during procedures and manages facility supplies. Her focus is the patient experience and making sure you are comfortable. She communicates with the patient before and during the procedure to alleviate any dental anxiety.
When she is not at the office, she enjoys family time with her husband and daughter, Meredith. She hopes to continue her career here working with the fabulous patients and wonderful co-workers for years to come.
