Dr. Ian M. Fontenot, DDS

Born and raised in Ville Platte, Dr. Ian Fontenot has strong roots in the Acadiana area. At a young age, his parents taught him the importance of customer and patient care. With Dr. Fontenot's mother as a registered nurse and his father an established family dentist in Ville Platte, he learned early on to take pride in caring for patients.

He graduated from LSU Alexandria manga cum laude with a Bachelor of Biological Sciences and later furthered his education, receiving a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans. Dr. Fontenot graduated top of his class at LSU with many prestigious awards, including the following: C. Edmund Kells, OKU Dental Honor Society, Academy of General Dentistry Senior Award, Academy of Operative Dentistry Senior Award, International Congress of Oral Implantologists Senior Award, American Academy of Periodontology Senior Award, and American Academy Implant Dentistry Senior Award.

After dental school, he accepted and completed a General Dentistry Residency at the University of Florida College of Dentistry in Jacksonville, Florida. At the University of Florida, he learned all the disciplines in-depth, with a special emphasis on full mouth reconstruction and surgery utilizing dental implants, crowns, veneers, and removable prosthetics.

Since completing his residency, Dr. Fontenot has done more than 500 hours of continuing dental education in orthodontics (certified provider of Six Month Smiles and Invisalign), bone grafts, dental implants (certified provider of Nobel Biocare), sedation dentistry, nitrous oxide, oral sedation, practice management, rotary endodontics, gum grafts, cosmetic dentistry, and pediatrics. He has a strong desire to learn from the best teachers across the country and use the latest technology to provide the highest quality patient care.

Dr. Fontenot worked at his father's dental practice in Ville Platte and multiple health centers throughout Acadiana for the past few years. From this experience, he increased his scope of practice to pediatrics, allowing him to treat adults and children in his current practice.

Dr. Fontenot has been married to his high-school sweetheart for almost 10 years. They have one beautiful little girl, Lilah Kate Fontenot, and a son, Liam Paul. His wife is a teacher at a local Catholic school, St. Leo-Seton. Dr. Fontenot lives with his family in Carencro, and they love it! He enjoys exercising, movies, music, and hanging out with friends and family.

Dr. Patrick Roesch

Dr. Patrick Roesch is proud to call Carencro home, having spent his entire life in the community that shaped him. A graduate of St. Leo-Seton and Teurlings Catholic, he developed an early appreciation for the people and values that make the area so special. While attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Dr. Roesch discovered his passion for dentistry and set his sights on returning home to serve the community that supported him along the way.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in Biology, Dr. Roesch continued his education at the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. There, he gained comprehensive training in a wide range of procedures, including crowns and bridges, root canal therapy, extractions, fillings, and removable appliances.

Dr. Roesch has always believed in the power of a confident smile. He is committed to providing patient-centered care by taking the time to clearly explain treatment plans and ensure each patient feels comfortable and informed. Understanding that many people have had less-than-positive dental experiences, he strives to create a welcoming, stress-free environment and to change the way patients feel about visiting the dentist.

Dr. Roesch is married to his high school sweetheart, Kaitlyn, and together they have two daughters, Ruby and Remi. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his family and can often be found fishing, hunting, or golfing.

Dr. Alyssa Magee

Born and raised in Lafayette, Dr. Alyssa Magee is proud to be serving the community she’s always called home. From a young age, she found joy in helping others feel confident, especially through their smiles. That passion eventually led her to pursue a career in dentistry, where she could combine her love of science with her desire to make a difference in people’s lives.

Dr. Magee earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where she also worked as a student assistant in a dental office. It was during this time that her interest in the dental field truly flourished. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans, where she graduated with honors in leadership. Throughout dental school, she was actively involved in the American Student Dental Association ad enjoyed advocating for advances in the dental profession and welfare of dentists. 

Known for her gentle touch and kind-hearted nature, Dr. Magee is passionate about creating positive dental experiences for every patient. She believes in listening carefully, explaining treatment options thoroughly, and making sure her patients feel at ease every step of the way.

Outside the office, Dr. Magee enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Quin and their bernedoodle, Bronco. If they're not in Lafayette, you can find them by the water, specifically in Toledo Bend, fishing and watching the sunset. A dedicated fitness enthusiast, Dr. Magee loves to stay active by doing cycling, Pilates, and strength training.

Dr. Laura Gerace

Born and raised in Opelousas, she's driven by a genuine love for her community and a passion for making dental care both comfortable and accessible. Her volunteer work with Mission of Mercy, Remote Area Medical, and Give Kids a Smile reflects her dedication to serving others.

Dr. Laura continues to grow her skills through the Seattle Study Club, ensuring her patients always receive the highest quality care.

When she's not in the office, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband John and her stepson Finley-often over a fun, friendly game night. We're so grateful to have her with us!

McKenzie

Regional Manager

McKenzie has been in the dental field since 2005, where she began her career in pediatrics but quickly moved to general dentistry. She began working at Fontenot Family Dentistry since 2015. She is Edda, ACLS, X-Ray, and CPR certified. As our office manager for over 6 years, McKenzie oversees all three locations and helps them to run smoothly and efficiently! When she’s not busy at work, McKenzie enjoys working out and spending time with her family!

The oil that keeps the engine running of our family practice, McKenzie joined Fontenot Family Dentistry in 2015. She is no stranger to the dental field and began her career in pediatric dentistry in 2005, before making the jump to general dentistry. Therefore, she is well-versed in helping patients of all ages. A master of her trade, McKenzie has worked various positions in the dental office over the years making her well-equipped to serve as the regional manager. Her certifications include: EDDA, ACLS, CPR as well as a dental x-ray certification. Her greatest certification, however, is supporting her doctors in providing optimal care to the Fontenot family patient community. McKenzie achieves this by ensuring all patients are receiving excellent dental care in a caring and calm environment.  
 
McKenzie grew up in Church Point, Louisiana, and is one of 6 siblings. Growing up in a big family helped foster her love for people. She prides herself on treating our patients like family. She is committed to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and knows this begins with a healthy smile.
 
When she is not overseeing practice operations at our Fontenot Family Dentistry locations, you can find her creating new adventures and traveling, with her husband Matt. She also enjoys fashion, and fitness as well as spending time with her extended family including her nieces and nephews that she adores.

Mel

Registered Dental Hygienist

Mel joined Dr. Fontenot in July 2015 after graduating from the LSU School of Dentistry as one of only six selected students from the Lafayette satellite program. She received Lafayette's Outstanding Student Award, The Irma Miner Scholarship, Who's Who among Students in American University Colleges, and The Golden Scaler Award. She is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association. 

Mel also participates in many community activities. She enjoys attending Special Smiles associated with the Special Olympics in Carencro every year. Her roots are in the heart of Carencro, her hometown and favorite city. She loves building relationships with her patients while providing the best oral hygiene care.

When not in the office, Mel enjoys working out, shopping, doing makeup, and spending time with family!

Mallory

Registered Dental Hygienist

Mallory joined Fontenot Family Dentistry in November 2018. After completing her prerequisites at LSU, Mallory was accepted into the LSUHSC Dental Hygiene satellite program in Lafayette. She graduated in the top four of her class and received the Patient Excellence award.

Mallory strives to make patients feel comfortable and confident in their smiles. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outside in her garden and relaxing with family, friends and her husband, Mark.

Gabby

Registered Dental Hygienist

Gabby joined Fontenot Family Dentistry in August 2019. After finishing her prerequisites at LSU in Baton Rouge, she graduated from the Lafayette satellite program for the LSU School of Dentistry. She graduated magna cum laude and received The Irma Miner Scholarship, The Shirley Mae Stevens Bienvenue Scholarship, and the Excellence in Special Care Dentistry Award.

Gabby strives to inform and educate her patients on their oral health while being open to learning more about the dental field. She finds it gratifying to build relationships with her patients and do what she can to help them overcome their dental fears and feel confident in their smiles.

In her downtime, she enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.

Emilie

Lead Dental Assistant

Emilie joined Fontenot Family Dentistry in December 2015. She is our lead dental assistant and works alongside Dr. Fontenot during procedures. She thrives on helping our team grow and feel confident! Her goal is to treat all her patients with compassion and honesty and create a comfortable environment.

Outside of work, Emilie loves spending quality time with her friends and her family!

Jordyn

Dental Assistant

Jordyn joined Fontenot Family Dentistry in February 2019 after completing the dental assistant program at Southwest Dental Academy. She works alongside Dr. Fontenot during procedures and assists her team with anything they need to ensure their success. Jordyn focuses on building trust and relationships with her patients, ensuring they are comfortable and educated about whatever treatment is needed.
In her free time, Jordyn enjoys spending time with her Husband, Coy and new baby, Cooper!

Jeanne

Dental Assistant

Jeanne joined Fontenot Family Dentistry in March 2024 after working in the service industry for 7 years. She graduated from Lafayette High in 2018 and Southwest Dental Academy in 2021. She works alongside Dr. Porter and strives to make her patients feel educated and comfortable. In her free time, she loves making memories with her husband and daughter.

Ainsley

Dental Assistant

Ainsley joined Fontenot Family Dentistry 2023 as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant. She attended Alexandria Dental Academy in 2019. She works along Dr. Porter and enjoys making her patients feel comfortable and confident. She strives in educating and helping her patients smile again!
 
In her free time, she loves shopping, reading, and spending time with her husband and family.

Mandi

Scheduling Coordinator

Originally from Houma, LA, she moved here in 2019. Mandi then joined our team in August of 2023. Whether you're calling to make an appointment, have an insurance question, or checking in for your appointment, she is here to help. Mandi’s favorite part of our office is how we work together as a team to give our patients the best possible care. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, crocheting, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

Maci

Insurance Coordinator

Maci has been a part of the Fontenot Family Dentistry team since September 2020 and has loved growing alongside her coworkers. She began her journey chairside assisting with Dr. Fontenot before moving to the front office, where she now leads the front desk and assists with insurance and scheduling.

She’s always happy to help patients navigate insurance, billing, and scheduling, and takes pride in making each experience as smooth as possible. Maci enjoys being part of such a supportive team and helping provide excellent care to every patient.

Outside of the office, she enjoys time with family and friends, with her favorite role being a girl mom!

Meitha

Front Desk Receptionist

Meitha joined Fontenot Family Dentistry in July of 2025 after working in childcare for several years.

She is our scheduling coordinator who is also a certified dental assistant. She helps ensure the office runs smoothly by managing appointments, assisting with insurance questions, and welcoming patients to the office.

Her favorite part of the job is seeing the smiles on patients’ faces as they leave. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, traveling with her boyfriend, and spending time with her family.

Morgan

Dental Assitant

Morgan joined our team in July 2025, bringing with her over eight years of experience in the dental field. Her strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and warm, friendly demeanor help create a comfortable and positive experience for every patient she assists. Morgan works closely alongside Dr. Laura, ensuring each procedure runs smoothly while providing compassionate, high-quality care.

She is passionate about helping patients feel at ease and takes pride in building trusting relationships with those she serves. Morgan is dedicated to continuing her professional growth and staying up to date with the latest advancements in dental care.

Outside of the office, Morgan enjoys spending time with her family. She loves being a mother and wife, and values making memories with her loved ones and friends whenever she can.
